Downs' Rance Hide-Away

Nestled along KP Creek 35 miles down the Blue River on Forest Service Road 281 from Alpine lies one of Arizonan's hide away.

The Downs' Ranch Hide-Away, owned and operated by Bill and Mona Bunnell, steps you back in time to when life was simple. Mona, who is a life long resident of this ranch, provides cabins for people who are looking for a place to get away from the hectic pace of the city. Here a person can fish for trout on KP Creek, hike or ride trails on the Blue wilderness. Horses are available, or bring your own horses. Corrals are also available.

Hunt for big game such as elk, deer and bear, or just sit back and enjoy Arizona's finest nights of skies, full of stars. Peace and quiet one of life's little treasures is an everyday event, cottages are equipped with complete housekeeping (Cooking utensils, dinnerware, towels, bedding etc., but no maid service). Bring your own food. Call Mona for cost and availability before 7:00 a.m. and after 7:00 p.m.

Scenic rides are $10.00 per hour.

Specialty rides are $595. You get 5 days in the beautiful scenic blue Range Primitive Area with everything provided:

• Trail wise horses
• Rustic, clean & cozy cabins
• Wonderful country style meals and trails that will keep you in awe the entire time.
• Spring & fall dates available upon request

Country Style Meals (Guests only). Arrangements can be made for meals, with advance notice.

For the adventurous hunter, we are affiliated with D.C. Outfitters. Guides are very experienced and specialize in high quality hunts in Arizona for Elk, Deer, Javalina, Antelope and Quail in Units 1, 2, 27, 31 and 32.

Cabin Rates

• $60 per night - 2 people
• $20 for each additional person, No charge for children under 6
• $250 per week for 2 people ( 7 days and 6 nights)
• $30 per week for each additional person
• $600 per month for 2
• $120 per month for each additional person over 6 years old

Corrals available for horses. $10 per horse each night. You furnish your own feed and groups share corrals

$50 deposit required.
